Thomas Kazakos receives the CCCI Business Leader-Shipping Award


The Director General of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Thomas Kazakos, was awarded the CCCI Business Leader Award in the Shipping Category.

Thomas Kazakos is a member of the board of directors of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the executive committee and the Board of Directors of the Federation of Employers and Industrialists. He has served on the Boards of the Cyprus Ports Authority and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency and is the general secretary and board consultant of the Cyprus Shipowners ‘Employers’ Association.

Among others, he represents the Chamber on the Boards of the International Chamber of Shipping in London and the European Shipowners’ Association in Brussels, where since 2015, he has been the Chairman of the Maritime State Aid Committee. In 2017, he was appointed by the European Commission to the Board of the European Maritime Safety Agency, based in Lisbon.

Born in Famagusta in 1967, he studied law in the United Kingdom, where he earned a master’s degree in European and international commercial law.
