ICOMIA appoints Romina Bompani to lead partnerships and membership development

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) has appointed Romina Bompani to the newly created role of Head of Partnerships, tasked with strengthening collaboration across the global recreational marine industry and expanding ICOMIA’s network of strategic partners across its 40+ national and sector associations.
Romina brings over two decades of experience in the international marine industry, gained across Europe, the United States and Latin America. She has built a reputation for developing commercial infrastructure from the ground up and delivering strategic initiatives with measurable revenue growth. Fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish, she brings a genuinely international outlook to the role.
In her new position, Romina will lead the development of partnerships supporting ICOMIA’s mission to advance the sustainable growth of the global leisure marine industry, working closely with member associations, industry stakeholders, commercial partners and international organisations to create opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, research, advocacy and industry standards development.
The appointment underlines ICOMIA’s ambition to elevate the member experience, sharpen its marketing, strengthen commercial partnerships and make smarter use of data and digital tools across its engagement with members, sponsors and the wider industry. It is, ICOMIA says, a strategic hire aimed squarely at growing participation in its work.
“I am delighted to be joining ICOMIA at such an exciting time for the global marine industry. The challenges and opportunities facing our sector require stronger collaboration than ever before. I look forward to working with our members, industry partners, and stakeholders around the world to build meaningful partnerships that deliver value, foster innovation, and support a sustainable future for the recreational marine industry.” Romina Bompani, Head of Partnerships
“Romina is exceptionally well connected across the international marine community and brings a wealth of experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, and industry collaboration. As ICOMIA continues to expand its global reach and impact, partnerships will play an increasingly important role in delivering our strategic objectives. We are delighted to welcome Romina to the team and look forward to the energy, expertise, and new opportunities she will bring to the organisation and our members.” Joe Lynch, CEO, ICOMIA
Romina will work alongside the ICOMIA team at boat shows and industry events across Europe and the United States over the coming months.
