AMMITEC at the Heart of the Maritime Digital Ecosystem at Posidonia 2026

June 9, 2026

Once again, AMMITEC was at the heart of the maritime digital ecosystem during Posidonia 2026, bringing together professionals, companies, organizations and stakeholders shaping the future of maritime technology.

Throughout the exhibition, the Association’s booth served as one of the most vibrant meeting points for the international maritime technology community. Executives from shipping companies, technology providers, academic institutions and professionals from across the maritime and digital sectors gathered to exchange ideas, discuss emerging challenges and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

AMMITEC’s presence at Posidonia 2026 extended well beyond the exhibition floor. Through a series of initiatives, meetings and activities, as well as its participation in the YES Forum, the Association once again demonstrated its role as a bridge connecting shipping, technology, academia and the next generation of maritime professionals.

At the same time, AMMITEC maintained a strong presence in Posidonia’s sporting events. The Association participated in the Posidonia Cup 2026 Sailing Regatta with two boats, ‘Roza’ and ‘Agapi’, achieving 6th place among 22 crews in their category. AMMITEC members also took part in the Posidonia Running Event and the 3×3 Basketball Tournament, extending the spirit of collaboration and community beyond the exhibition halls.

A key highlight of this year’s Posidonia was the signing of an MoU between AMMITEC and AI Catalyst, reaffirming the shared commitment of both organizations to promoting knowledge exchange, education and collaboration around the application of Artificial Intelligence within the maritime community.

The culmination of the week came on Thursday afternoon with the traditional AMMITEC Booth Party. With record attendance and many visitors describing it as one of the largest and most vibrant gatherings of this year’s exhibition, the AMMITEC Booth Party further reinforced the Association’s role as the natural meeting point of the maritime digital ecosystem.

Reflecting on Posidonia 2026, AMMITEC President Dr. Matthew Maheras commented:

“Posidonia 2026 once again demonstrated that technology has become an integral part of the strategy, competitiveness and resilience of modern shipping. AMMITEC has evolved into a community that brings together people, companies and ideas from across the maritime and technology ecosystem.

The response we witnessed this year, both at our booth and throughout our activities, exceeded all expectations. More importantly than the numbers, however, is the spirit of collaboration that increasingly defines our community. We will continue building bridges between shipping and technology, fostering dialogue, knowledge sharing and innovation that will shape the future of our industry.”

With its sights now set on Posidonia 2028, AMMITEC renewed its commitment to the international maritime community, once again leaving its mark on the world’s leading maritime exhibition.
