On 26 May 2026, Cyprus Marine Club successfully held its 2nd Annual General Meeting at Gazebo Mare, bringing together members, sponsors, and distinguished representatives of the maritime community for an evening reflecting on another year of remarkable growth, strong engagement, and continued development.
The AGM was chaired by Club President Captain Eberhard Koch, who welcomed attendees and reflected on the Club’s evolution since its transformation into a company limited by guarantee.
Among the distinguished guests was Dr. Theodoulos Mesimeris, Permanent Secretary to the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry, representing Her Excellency Marina Hadjimanoli.
In his address, Dr. Mesimeris highlighted the importance of organisations such as the Cyprus Marine Club in strengthening professional dialogue, networking, collaboration, and unity within the maritime sector. He also acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Club in supporting Cyprus’ position as a leading international maritime centre.

During his President’s Report, Captain Koch reflected not only on the operational progress of the Club, but also on the broader geopolitical and humanitarian challenges currently affecting global shipping, particularly developments in the Strait of Hormuz and their impact on seafarers and maritime operations worldwide.
“Shipping is ultimately about people,” Captain Koch stated, emphasizing the resilience, responsibility, and dedication of maritime professionals navigating increasingly complex global conditions.

The Club reported continued membership growth, increasing from 155 members in May 2025 to 177 members today, representing more than 450 individuals across the maritime sector. The President noted that these figures reflect the growing trust, engagement, and relevance of the Club within the Cyprus maritime community.
Over the past twelve months, the Cyprus Marine Club successfully organised 13 professional and social events, hosting prominent international speakers and covering key industry topics including geopolitics, sustainability, regulation, decarbonisation, maritime training, and communication.
Among the year’s highlights was the Club’s first Charity Gala held in January 2026, during which nearly EUR 20,000 was raised for the Little Heroes Foundation.
The AGM was successfully carried out with all agenda points approved unanimously by the Members.

During the presentation of the Financial Statements, Mrs. Eirini Christodoulou of Elusas Services Limited highlighted the strong and healthy financial position of the Club, describing the financial results as particularly impressive for such a young and rapidly growing company.
Concluding the meeting, Captain Koch thanked all members, sponsors, partners, and supporters for their continued trust and contribution to the Club’s growing success, describing the Cyprus Marine Club as “a place where connections are built, ideas are shared, and people feel a true sense of belonging.”
The President also extended special appreciation to the General Manager, Julia Paczkowska, recognising her dedication to the growth and daily operations of the Club.
Following the formal part of the AGM, members and guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail reception in the beautiful lawn area of Gazebo Mare, accompanied by live saxophone music, creating a relaxed and warm atmosphere for networking and socialising among the maritime community.
