Theofano Somaripa is an accomplished M.Sc. Naval Architect and Marine Engineer having graduated from Greenwich University with a specialization in Marine Engineering Management. With a passion for technology and business, she holds an executive diploma in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, and Cyber Security.
Currently, Theofano is studying for an MBA in Digital Transformation at Winchester University.
In 2024, she won the Golden Award in the Business IT Excellence Awards. In 2023, she received the prestigious Golden Award in Cyber Security Awards recognizing her outstanding contributions to the field. In 2017, she was honored with the Golden Award in Business IT Excellence Awards (BITE) and the Merit award in the World Information Technology and Service Alliance (WITSA).
As the C.I.O. of Newport SA from 2020, she leverages her skills and expertise to drive technological innovation and digital transformation across the organization. Before joining Newport SA, she spent six and a half years at TMS Tankers LTD as a Systems Analyst, where she was responsible for commercial research, performance, and energy development. Prior to that, she spent five years as R&D and Planning Manager at Cyprus Sealines followed by three years at Minerva Marine Inc. as a PMS Support Engineer.

Theofano is a full member of the Association of Maritime Managers in Information Technology & Communications (AMMITEC). She is also a member of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA-Hellas), reflecting on her commitment to advancing the maritime industry.
With her extensive education and experience, Theofano Somaripa is a highly skilled professional who is committed to driving innovation and excellence in the maritime and technology industries.
