Carnival updates guests on Hurricane Ian’s impact on sailings

Carnival Cruise Line’s Fleet Operations team in Miami is continuing to closely monitor Hurricane Ian and its potential impact on current itineraries. Our thoughts are with our guests and local residents who are affected by the storm.

Because of expected weather impacts, the Port of Tampa Bay and the Port of Jacksonville (JAXPort) are now closed and, as a result, these two upcoming sailings have been cancelled:

Carnival Paradise – Four-day cruise from Tampa, Fla. on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Carnival Elation – Four-day cruise from Jacksonville, Fla. on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Note: Guests will receive a full refund and a 25% Future Cruise Credit.

In addition, itineraries have been adjusted for the following sailings:

Carnival Horizon, which is currently sailing a six-day itinerary that departed Miami, Fla. on Saturday, Sept. 25, will not stop at Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The ship will instead spend the day at sea and is expected to return to PortMiami on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Carnival Sunrise, which is currently sailing a five-day itinerary that departed Miami, Fla. on Saturday, Sept. 24, will not stop at the Port of Bimini in the Bahamas on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The ship will instead spend the day at sea and is expected to return to PortMiami on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Carnival Paradise, which is currently sailing on a five-day cruise that departed Sept. 24 from Tampa, Fla., will extend today’s visit to Cozumel, Mexico overnight, and is now scheduled to depart from Cozumel on Wednesday, Sept. 28.  The ship will then begin heading back to Tampa, but remaining a safe distance from the storm as the company determines when Carnival Paradise can return to the Port of Tampa after the U.S. Coast Guard assesses conditions.

Carnival Elation, which is currently on a five-day sailing from Jacksonville, Fla., replaced a scheduled visit to Princess Cay with a sea day today. The ship will visit Freeport, Bahamas, on Wednesday, Sept. 28, instead of a scheduled sea day. It is likely the sailing will be extended until the port reopens after the storm has passed.

Carnival Ecstasy, which departed Mobile, Ala. Monday, Sept. 26 on a five-day sailing, will visit Progreso, Mexico on Wednesday before visiting Cozumel, Mexico on Thursday. This change re-orders the visits, as the ship’s initial itinerary was set for a visit to Cozumel before Progreso.

Carnival Glory, which departed from New Orleans on Sunday, Sept. 25 for a seven-day sailing, will now visit Mahogany Bay, Roatan Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. The ship had been scheduled to visit Key West, Florida as well as Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas.
