Space exploration, aquaculture and data centres lead the debate at ABS Offshore Innovation event in Singapore

Leaders from the marine and offshore industries heard about cutting edge developments in the offshore sector at the ABS Reception: The Future of Offshore – Traditional, Transitional and New Industry.

Leveraging industry-leading capabilities from ABS’ Sustainability and Technology Centers in Singapore, the high-profile event at The Fullerton Hotel featured topics related to advancements in new offshore industries such as space exploration, aquaculture and data centers.

Joining the attendees and providing insights were Luis Alberto Melo, Ambassador and Consul General of Panama in Singapore, and from the ABS headquarters in Houston, Miguel Hernandez, ABS Senior Vice President, Global Offshore, and Matt Tremblay, ABS Vice President, Global Offshore.

“As offshore operations continue to evolve, it is important to bring operators, contractors and industry leaders together at events like this. ABS is at the forefront of important topics such as decarbonization and the energy transition, finding innovative approaches for safe and sustainable offshore designs and operations,” said Miguel Hernandez, ABS Senior Vice President, Global Offshore.

“Our Singapore office includes one of the five Sustainability Centers of Excellence at ABS and because the sustainability challenge is too big for any one company to meet on its own, we encourage collaborations. We are delighted to be in a position to build relationships, promote information sharing and bridge networks to create value for everyone involved,” said Pier Carazzai, ABS Vice President of Regional Business Development.

“I have been working closely with the ABS team during my two years in Singapore, and I have seen first-hand ABS’ commitment to clients to help them succeed. At the registry, we believe the offshore sector will require collaboration and connection, sharing ideas to meet future sustainability requirements. I have no doubt that events like this one are setting an example of how we can bring the maritime community together to achieve our common goals,” said Luis Alberto Melo, Ambassador and Consul General of Panama in Singapore.
