The Carnival Pride cruise ship arrives for the first time at the Port of Valencia

València has positioned itself as a fashionable destination characterised by a sustainable, diversified offer, far from overcrowding

The Carnival Pride cruise ship of Carnival Cruise Line has made its first call at the Port of Valencia. The head of Commercial and Business Development of the Port Authority of Valencia , Andrés Morro, has overseen delivering the traditional socarrat – the Valencian terracotta tile designed with maritime motifs that Valenciaport delivers to the ships that dock for the first time in its facilities – to the captain of the cruise ship Rino Costanzo.

The Carnival Pride is a Spirit class ship with a length of 293 metres and a beam of 32 metres and 10 decks. The ship can accommodate 2,124 passengers and up to 930 crew.  It is the only call of both the ship and the Carnival company planned in Valencia for 2022. For 2023, Carnival has planned 5 calls: 3 with the same ship, Carnival Pride, and 2 with Carnival Freedom.

This cruise ship arrived on Saturday in Valencia together with the Wonder of Seas, which made its second stop in the city. In addition, on Friday the cruise ships Aidastella, Le Bellot, MSC Seaside and Marella Discovery arrived at the Cap i Casal. València has positioned itself as a fashionable destination characterised by a sustainable, diversified offer, far from overcrowding, offering cruise tourists safe excursions adapted to new needs.

The city of Valencia is a medium-sized destination for the sector, offering a wide range of urban and countryside activities, in addition to new alternatives for lovers of the outdoors, sports and hiking, and more sustainable options such as bicycle and skateboard tours. In addition, gastronomic, cultural, wine, musical or historical experiences are promoted, making València a multiple and varied experience that facilitates mobility and avoids saturation of destinations. In fact, the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and the Provincial Council of Valencia are preparing a plan to boost the activity of cruise tourism in the inland regions and municipalities of the province that want to attract these tourists who dock throughout the year at the docks of the Port of Valencia.
