Changes to Seaspan’s Tug Services at Roberts Bank, Deltaport and Westshore Terminals

Seaspan Marine Transportation confirms that Seaspan’s lease of the Roberts Bank tug basin will cease, effective July 18, 2022, and operations will relocate to a new facility.
Since 1975, Seaspan has provided safe, reliable and cost competitive tugboat services at Roberts Bank for the Westshore and Deltaport terminals. From July 2022, Seaspan will provide tug services to our customers at Westshore and Deltaport Terminals from our new facility. Our modern powerful ship docking and escort tugs will continue to be crewed and available 24/7 for ship docking, ship escort and emergency services at both Westshore and Deltaport and we will continue to provide competitive pricing for these services.
With more than a century of successful participation in coastal commerce in British Columbia, Seaspan Marine has an unwavering commitment to operational excellence, environmental protection, industry leading safety performance and customer service. We are a proud contributor to the Port’s ECHO program and various sustainability initiatives helping the Port achieve its sustainability and environmental goals. We will also continue to support local community groups and First Nations partnerships and will provide environmental leadership through our partnership with the Haisla Nation and investment in Canada’s first fully electric tugs for LNG Canada’s new export facility in Kitimat, BC.
