CMMI and Odessa Naval Academy sign cooperation agreement – Assistant the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry


The Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry encourages the initiatives of Academic Institutions and Research Centers to promote the Blue Economy and Shipping.
With the participation of the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation took place between the National University “Naval Academy of Odessa” and the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute.
The Agreement was signed by Mr. Mykhaylo Miyusov, Rector of the Academy of Odessa and Mr. Zacharias Siokouros, General Executive Director of the Institute.
In addition to Mr. Demetriades, present at the Ceremony were Mr. Vladyslav Kryklii, Minister of Infrastructure (responsible for Shipping) of Ukraine, Mr. Ruslan Nimchynskyi, Ambassador of Ukraine in Cyprus, Mr. Louis Telemachus, Ambassador of Cyprus in Ukraine, as well as executives of the two Organisations.
Mr. Demetriades stated that “Cyprus welcomes today’s event which marks the beginning of an ambitious cooperation between the two Institutions that will contribute to the support of maritime research, technological development and innovation, education and practical training. Such partnerships create prospects for the promotion of the Blue Economy and contribute to the effort to address in a timely and effective manner the challenges facing shipping.”
