Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement vessel Kairos completes first LNG STS bunkering at Torshamnen, Sweden

Last Friday, Torshamnen (Gothenberg, Sweden) woke up to see the history being created when BSM managed Gas Supply Vessel, Kairos, delivered 1035 m3 LNG to Eagle Balder, a 125,000 DWT Aframax shuttle – the first ship-to-ship LNG operations at Tornshamnen. Eagle Balder did not have to suspend her cargo operations, thanks to a careful Risk Assessment conducted by the BSM team to ensure Simultaneous Operations were performed to the industry’s best practices.

Christoffer Lillhage, Port of Gothenburg Operations Manager, mentioned: “This is yet another milestone for the Port of Gothenburg in our ambition to increase the use of alternative shipping fuels for a more sustainable future”.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this operation!
