Digital risk analysis tool drives PSC excellence, and flawless service delivery

V.Group has launched a new risk analysis tool to drive Port State Control (PSC) excellence.

Harnessing the operational learnings from more than 1000 PSC inspections per annum, the new tool has supported the V.Group fleet in delivering 83% flawless Port State Control inspections up to the end of quarter two.

Designed to ensure vessels under management are ready for PSC, the PSC Performance Analyser highlights all the risks facing a vessel to allow them to take proactive actions to ensure safe operations. This latest innovation demonstrates V.Group’s continuous improvement to leverage its technology and dataset to improve actionable insights for vessel safety.

The tool can monitor trends by country and individual ports and breaks the data down by office / fleet / customer with performance analysed by Class Society and by Flag State. With a view to promoting safety, the platform combines the power of data with an interactive dashboard to ensure vessels are ready for inspection ahead of arrival in port.

The PSC Performance Analyser complements a suite of measures and developments in recent months to enhance pre-arrival processes, such as the pre-PSC arrival checklist recently recognised by Panama and Liberia flag state authorities.

The new platform will facilitate:

  • Analysis of PSC performance by selected parameters (by individual port, by country, by vessel type, by flag states, by vessel classification society and by customer fleet)
  • Interactive visualizations of data stored with an intuitive interface
  • Trends analysis from stored data (providing historic insights from our dataset)
  • Extracting reports and information, displayed in a variety of user-friendly formats

Mike Bradshaw, Global Head of HSEQ at V.Group comments: “With a constantly evolving environment, the need to drive vessel safety and environmentally compliant operations has never been greater. Our new platform uses technology as well as our own in-depth knowledge to provide data to help make the decisions that matter, maximising operational efficiency on behalf of our customers.”

Mike added “Our PSC Performance Analyser tool not only looks back over past performance but also looks ahead, highlighting any potential risks ahead of arrival to ensure all management processes are prepared and ready in the selected country. This tool will prove key in continually striving for PSC excellence.”

The launch of this new platform comes weeks after the announcement of V.Group’s new risk-based SIRE Performance analysis platform, as V.Group continues to develop industry tools in its pursuit for flawless service delivery, and safe vessel operations.
