As we gathered to honor the drive and talent of the students who won the MIEEK PSM competitions, the room was filled not just with excitement but with pride and hope.
These awards were more than trophies or certificates. They were reflections of hard work, creativity, and resilience. From brainstorming ideas to long hours of preparation, every challenge faced, and milestone reached brought them one step closer to that moment on stage. A moment to share with their teachers and loved ones.
Congratulations to Antonis Achillides, Katerina Goufioti, and Ourania Demetriou of A’ Technical School, who won the school competition. The students had to write a newspaper article on ‘ESG in Shipping.’
Demetra Aresti and Eliana Panagiotou of the program of studies “Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies” won the interdepartmental research and debate competition on ‘ESG in the Supply Chain: Necessity and Challenges,’ after a neck-to-neck final, filled with rebuttals and blocks.

The competitions were under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry, and the Shipping Deputy Minister, Mrs. Marina Hadjimanoli, presented the awards. The European Commission included the competitions in the activities of promoting the European Maritime Day in my country.
The award ceremony wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors: Salamis Organization, CombiJet, a member of Demetriades Handling, Lemissoler Navigation Co. Ltd, L. Nemitsas Ltd., and Ergonauts.
The evening ended with a lovely reception prepared by the students of the COOK, BAKER, and REST programs. The CNC students prepared commemorative wooden key rings for the attendees.
