Avikus, the autonomous navigation subsidiary of HD Hyundai, hosted a landmark industry event  at the Piraeus Marine Club, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into the Greek maritime market.

Titled “From Vision to Voyage,” the event brought together many maritime executives, including shipowners, classification societies, and technology leaders, to explore how AI-powered navigation is revolutionizing safety and efficiency at sea.

Key speakers included:

• Dohyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus, doing the opening remarks and introducing Avikus to the audience
• Are Jørgensen from DNV, introducing the new AROS notations for autonomous and remotely operated vessels
• Matthew Maheras, CIO of Metrostar, focusing on the transformation of Fleet Management with AI and Data
• Jungwoo Seo, CSO of Avikus, presenting the HiNAS product suite

The event signals Avikus’ first commercial foothold in Greece, reinforcing its strategy to lead the adoption of AI-based solutions across Europe. The company’s HiNAS Control and HiNAS Cloud platforms—already deployed on over 400 vessels globally—enable shipowners to optimize fuel efficiency, reduce CO₂ emissions, and enhance navigational decision-making.

With strong interest from local stakeholders and growing traction in the EU, Avikus is accelerating its partnerships and presence in the region.
