MIEEK PSM School Competition Award Ceremony


The award ceremony for the school competition “Limassol Port: Growth and Challenge for the Environment” was organized by the Program of Studies “Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies” on Wednesday, 5 April 2023. The program is offered by the Higher School of Vocational Education and Training of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, MIEEK. The event took place at MIEEK’s new facilities, AITE (Absolute Institute of Technical Education) in Germasogeia.

The Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanoli, addressed the event and congratulated the program of studies “Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies” for this initiative. The Head of Vocational Education and Training, Dr. Elias Margadgis, congratulated the winners and expressed his joy in holding this award ceremony, the first-ever, at AITE, MIEEK’s gem. The program coordinator, Lina Ellina, referred to the various activities of the program, one of which was also the school competition, and thanked the members of the program’s Advisory Board: the Cyprus Shipping Chambers, the Limassol Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, the Cyprus Shipping Association, the Cyprus Agency of Supply Chain Management, and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology. She also thanked the board of YoungShip as well as Salamis Organization, the sponsors of the prizes.

The winners of the competition were:

First prize, Laniteio Lyceum, €600

Second prize, C’ Technical School, €300

Third prize, A’ Technical School, €250

Representatives from various professional associations in the shipping industry, shipping companies, as well as from the Ports Authority were there to congratulate the students and their parents during the reception that followed.
