Explorer Dream to resume cruises on 31 December in Taiwan

Dream Cruises has announced the restart of cruises in Taiwan with Explorer Dream resuming operations beginning on Friday, 31 December after stopping due to the COVID-19 outbreak in May of this year. Upon resumption, Explorer Dream will once again welcome passengers on two and three night Super Seacations from Keelung to favourite domestic destinations including Hualien, Anping and Kaoshiung.

“Dream Cruises is delighted to announce the restart of cruises in Taiwan on 31 December to provide the island’s residents with the opportunity to embark on a Super Seacation and enjoy the feeling of travelling again,” said Mr. Kent Zhu, President, Genting Cruise Lines. “Since we suspended operations in May, Dream Cruises has been working with the Taiwan authorities to plan on the safe restart of cruises and to revisit our health and hygiene guidelines and protocols to ensure the safest environment for both guests and crew. We are proud to have been the first cruise company to resume cruises in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong and of our stellar record of no COVID-19 related incidents in Taiwan since Explorer Dream first began operations in July 2020.”

From July 2020 to May 2021, Dream Cruises has welcomed over 90,000 guests on board Explorer Dream for worry-free Super Seacations, allowing travelers to visit some of the most iconic destinations on the main island and outlying islands without the hassle of packing and unpacking or catching connections.

And if getting there is half the fun, then Explorer Dream truly brings to life this age-old adage.

Dream Cruises’ newest family member, Explorer Dream features a broad selection of facilities on board with exciting entertainment and leisure spaces including the state-of-the-art virtual reality ESC Experience Lab, Zodiac Theatre, the Palm Court, Parthenon Pool and Gym, Spa and Salon area. Discover the world on a plate with world-class dining experiences highlighted by Seafood Grill, Mozzarella Ristorante & Pizzeria and Umi Uma Sushi & Teppanyaki and more.

To tailor further the Super Seacations to the Taiwan market, Dream Cruises will also develop immersive theming and enrichment programs on board Explorer Dream to provide a 360-degree experience for guests. With ongoing travel restrictions due to COVID-19 still affecting holiday plans1

Dream Cruises will continue to bring the world on to Explorer Dream to deliver a real sense of “getting-away” for vacation.

Continuing the tradition of pampering and indulgence, The Palace, Dream Cruises’ signature, private “luxury ship-within-a-ship” concept provides over 40 well-appointed suites, butler service, exclusive activities and dining and beverage privileges that combine the best of “East meets West” to enrich every journey.

Providing the peace of mind for guests to enjoy the many facilities and services on board Explorer Dream, comprehensive enhanced health and hygiene procedures and guidelines will be a crucial component of her resumption plans, ensuring the ship complies with all regulations stipulated by the Taiwan authorities.

Newly implemented, all cruising guests will be required to be fully vaccinated with a government approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their cruise departure date (some age restrictions apply) and all guests, regardless of age, will have to present a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test result conducted within 48 hours prior to departure at the cruise terminal on their departure date.

During the initial restart period for Explorer Dream, the ship capacity will also be reduced providing the most optimum space for social distancing during cruises and it will be mandatory for all guests to download the ‘Taiwan Social Distance’ App and to turn-on their Bluetooth at the cruise terminal and on the ship.

To safeguard the well-being of guests, thorough sanitization and disinfection and enhanced hygiene practices for guest cabins and crew member quarters, public areas and recreational facilities, along with safe food and beverage handling procedures will continued to be maintained. All crewmembers will also be fully vaccinated on board Explorer Dream.

“Dream Cruises is excited to be able to welcome guests on board Explorer Dream once again and we are looking forward to providing the residents of Taiwan with worry-free and hassle-free Super Secations that will deliver that true ‘get-away’ experience we miss from international travel,” added Mr. Zhu.
