HELMEPA is celebrating the 100th Issue of “HELMEPA Seagulls”- the newsletter of HELMEPA Junior

We are pleased to announce that we have just published the 100th issue of the newsletter “HELMEPA Seagulls”, of the environmental educational program “HELMEPA Junior”.
In 1995, HELMEPA started its quarterly distribution in printed form for the volunteer teachers and students members of HELMEPA Junior groups, in order to inform them about the initiative in which they participated. In addition to the news of the program, the newsletter covers the groups’ activities as well as current environmental issues and includes games and quizzes in order to raise awareness about the need of marine environment protection among the younger generation.
Since last March, during the unusual conditions due to the pandemic, we have continued to support the work of teachers online and have issued the two previous issues in electronic form. The 100th issue is now available in electronic form and students and teachers who register as members in the school year 2020-2021 will receive the printed newsletter as well.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all volunteer teachers of the program for the enthusiasm they show all these years by encouraging the children’s interest and strengthening their sensitivity for the environment, which is evident by the thousands of voluntary activities they carry out all over Greece.
