Greek President Sakellaropoulou meets with Shipping Min Plakiotakis


President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Tuesday received Shipping and Island Policy Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis at the presidential mansion.
Plakiotakis briefed the president on issues concerning his ministry and referred to the Coast Guard’s role in relation to the refugee and migration issue, as well as the Turkish threats.
He also presented the measures for the protection  against the pandemic in the shipping sector.
On her part, Sakellaropoulou pointed out the significant contribution of the coast guard in the management of migration flows, with full respect for the protection of human life, as she had the opportunity to see  for herself during her recent tours.
