Decree by the Minister of Communications and Works on the prohibition of flights as of April 4, 2020 at 12.00 am Cyprus time for a 14-day period


The Minister of Communications and Works, Mr Yiannis Karousos, issued yesterday, Thursday, April 2020, a Decree concerning the prohibition of flights as of 12.00 am Cyprus time, April 4, 2020 and for a 14 -day period, except for those related to the transport of cargo, departure of passengers from the Republic of Cyprus and flights for humanitarian purposes.

The following flights are excluded from the Decree:

  1. Flights related to the transport of cargo
  2. Non-passenger flights to the Republic of Cyprus, in order to transport passengers wishing to depart the Republic of Cyprus
  3. Flights to and from the Republic of Cyprus of humanitarian purposes or other isolated emergency flights, subject to special authorisation by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works
