Everllence to supply 480 MW for Off-Grid Data Center in the U.S.

24 gas engines to power data center for AI and cloud applications
Everllence has signed an agreement with a U.S. data center to deliver 24 × 18V51/60G gas engines. With a total output of 480 MW, they will power a hyperscale data center operating completely off-grid. The engines will run on natural gas and meet required, strict emission standards thanks to SCR and oxidation catalysts. The modular setup with 24 individual units will ensure flexibility and allow for rapid capacity expansion as the project’s energy demand grows.

In a market traditionally dominated by gas turbines, our medium speed engines offer a valuable alternative that is ideal for data centers without direct grid access. They deliver stable power quality, ensure maximum reliability, and can respond quickly to load changes.”
In the U.S., data center operators typically wait several years for a grid connection. Everllence’s engines enable the customer to immediately establish a power system for the project site that is separate from the grid. Thanks to their dynamic capabilities, the engines can be operated together with other generation technologies to provide baseload power supporting the dynamic and highly sensitive loads required for a data center’s operational life of the site.
Powering the digital future
Medium speed, gas engines offer a range of benefits. Their modular design, consisting of multiple individual units, makes them highly flexible while, depending on demand, modules can be ramped up or shut down within minutes to maximize efficiency and lower emissions. AI-driven data centers require significantly more energy than traditional facilities with operators depending on high power quality and uninterrupted reliability.
Everllence’s medium speed large engines provide technically advanced solutions for modern energy infrastructure needs. This technology has proven itself in critical applications for decades, ensuring continuous power for as long as necessary. These future-proof systems employ digital services such as PrimeServ Assist and CEON TechBot leveraging data analytics and AI to improve availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support informed operational decisions.

Proven technology in use
The 51/60 engine family is a proven technology for power plant projects. With an installed capacity of 8 GW worldwide, it makes a significant contribution to reliable energy supply. The gas version, 51/60G, is H₂‑ready and can operate with up to 25 percent hydrogen. With a start-up time of less than five minutes and an efficiency of up to 50 percent in single-cycle operation, it combines flexibility with low fuel consumption—even under partial load conditions.
Engine delivery is scheduled in two phases, starting mid-2026 with commissioning aligned to the data center’s expansion.
