Carnival Cruise Line celebrates the theatrical release of “The Cat in The Hat” with new family experiences at sea

Special Movie-Themed Activations Across 23 Ships and New Additions to Carnival’s Fleetwide Seuss at Sea Program Bring More Family Fun Onboard
Carnival Cruise Line is bringing more family fun onboard to celebrate the big-screen debut of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s “The Cat in the Hat.” Special movie-themed experiences and new additions to its Seuss at Sea program give families more ways to play together. The new programming marks Carnival’s 15-year partnership with Dr. Seuss, which has brought beloved characters and stories to life for millions of families at sea.
As part of Carnival’s celebration of “The Cat in the Hat,” 23 ships are offering limited-time family fun during the two weeks leading up to the film’s Nov. 6 premiere, including:
- Forty-Foot Hat Inflatables, Larger than Life Fun—Towering Cat in the Hat inflatables on select ships’ open decks, welcoming families aboard during embarkation.
- The Cat’s Hollywood Debut Party—Balloon drops, a red-and-white striped “premiere carpet,” character appearances, family entertainment, crafts and more in ship atriums.
- The Cat’s Secret Surprise—Special deliveries to select staterooms, featuring themed postcards, snack packs, invitations to special meet-and-greets and other giveaways.
- Themed Build-A-Bear Workshop—Seuss-inspired workshops with Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for bears and a specialty Cat in the Hat furry friend.
- Camp Ocean Activities—Cat in the Hat-themed activities including The Cat’s Messy Room Mission, The Cat’s Stacking Challenge and The Cat’s Rhyme-O-Rama.
- Green Screen Photo Opps— Movie-themed photo opportunities and green screen experiences.
“We’ve seen millions of children light up as they experience the world of Dr. Seuss aboard our ships, and we’re excited to give families even more ways to create those special memories together,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. “Celebrating the new ‘The Cat in the Hat’ movie adds a fun new chapter to our 15-year partnership and brings more family entertainment to life across our ships.”
In addition to the movie premiere celebrations, Carnival is expanding its popular Seuss at Sea program, which brings the world of Dr. Seuss to life through the Seuss-a-palooza character parade and Story Time, Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast and Dr. Seuss Bookville. Two new interactive experiences give families more ways to join the Seuss-inspired fun:
- Seuss-a-palooza Game Time – A new interactive main theater experience featuring Dr. Seuss-inspired music, dancing, tongue twisters and other fun games and challenges kick off the fun before Seuss-a-palooza Story Time.
- Seuss-a-palooza Family Time – Families move like their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, act out scenes from beloved books and compete in Seuss-themed charades.
Availability and timing of the experiences described above vary by ship and sailing.
Carnival is also celebrating the movie’s debut with a co-branded spot across online, TV and streaming platforms and on ships’ in-cabin televisions.
