P&O Cruises welcomed legendary DJ, broadcaster and global dance music pioneer Pete Tong MBE on board Arvia in Ibiza on Saturday (September 19) for an exclusive 90-minute DJ experience for guests in the ship’s SkyDome.

The evening event took place while Arvia was docked at Botafoc Pier during a 14-night Western Mediterranean holiday, giving guests the opportunity to see the dance music icon perform on the island that is synonymous with his trailblazing career.

More than 900 P&O Cruises guests were in attendance, including VIPs such as Big Zuu and Melvin Odoom, as Pete Tong brought his signature Ibiza sound to Arvia’s SkyDome, with the venue transformed into an unforgettable Ibiza-style nightclub experience at sea.

Pete Tong said: “I’m still thinking about Saturday night. I loved playing in the SkyDome on Arvia. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it so special.”

Guests also enjoyed an authentic ‘Taste of Ibiza’ with Hierbas Ibicencas, the island’s iconic herbal liqueur, exclusively distilled on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera since 1880. Produced using a blend of 18 locally sourced botanicals, including thyme, rosemary, mountain mint and citrus peels, the traditional Balearic spirit was served alongside classic Ibiza-inspired cocktails and regional dishes in Arvia’s Sunset Bar.

A true pillar of the global dance music scene, Pete is renowned for his impeccable ear for talent and remains one of the most influential figures in the industry. He has earned widespread respect as an arena-filling DJ, music producer, broadcaster, and A&R visionary, as well as the voice of BBC Radio 1’s iconic dance programming.

The electrifying set featured a number of iconic house tracks, with guests keeping the party island’s energy going long after sailaway.

His contributions were formally recognised with the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS) in 2021, honouring his outstanding impact on music and broadcasting.

With critically acclaimed albums, including the UK Number 1 debut Classic House (2017), and collaborations with artists like Ultra Naté and Tale of Us, Pete Tong continues to push the boundaries of electronic music while honouring its rich legacy.

Arvia’s spectacular SkyDome, a one-of-a-kind, glass-enclosed poolside paradise, will be transformed into a vibrant hub of evening entertainment – which has previously hosted electrifying live performances from Arvia’s godmother Nicole Scherzinger and Take That star Gary Barlow.

The event formed part of Arvia’s 14-night roundtrip Western Mediterranean holiday, which departed Southampton on September 13 and called at La Coruña, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Marseille, Barcelona and Cadiz, with a late-night departure from Ibiza.
