ICOMIA announces strategic partnership with boats group to advance Global Leisure Marine Market Intelligence

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations announced as a part of its new strategic partnership and sponsorship programme an agreement with Boats Group, the parent company of leading global marketplaces including Boat Trader, YachtWorld, and boats.com. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in ICOMIA’s mission to deliver the most authoritative and comprehensive business intelligence to the global leisure marine sector.
Under the agreement, Boats Group will provide extensive leisure marine market data, insights, and trend analyses sourced from its international network of online marketplaces and proprietary industry intelligence tools. These data contributions will be integrated into future editions of the ICOMIA Recreational Boating Industry Statistics Report, the industry’s most widely referenced source of global recreational boating data.
In addition to enriching the Statistics Report, Boats Group will work closely with ICOMIA to develop new market intelligence resources, expanding the organisation’s portfolio of data-driven products. These enhanced offerings will support marine businesses, national associations, and policymakers with deeper visibility into consumer behaviour, economic trends, and overall market performance.
Joe Lynch, ICOMIA CEO, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Boats Group, whose global reach and advanced data capabilities will significantly strengthen ICOMIA’s statistical programme. This collaboration ensures our members and the wider industry benefit from richer, timelier insights at a moment of rapid change and opportunity within the marine sector.”
Courtney Chalmers, Chief Brand & Communications Officer, Boats Group, added: “Boats Group is committed to driving growth and transparency across the leisure marine industry. By contributing our market intelligence to ICOMIA’s respected reporting and research initiatives, we aim to help industry leaders make more informed decisions and propel the boating sector forward.”
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to supporting sustainable industry growth through reliable, high-quality data. Boats Group has recently released its Year End Market Index Report, which draws on self-reported and contracted sold-boat data, combined with marketplace engagement insights, to provide a comprehensive view of market performance and forward-looking guidance for brokers, dealers, and OEMs.
