British sailing yacht builder Oyster Yachts has announced Ultra Refit Antigua as its newest service partner, offering a regional centre in the Caribbean for all forms of yacht maintenance, refits and guardianage.

According to Oyster Yachts, several of its vessels are moving from the brand’s Mediterranean base in Palma de Mallorca to the Caribbean for the winter season, where clients will be able to access such services as marine joinery, teak decking, refrigeration, metal fabrication, composite work, engineering and parts procurement from Antigua.

“Ultra Refit Ltd. have been carrying out this work alongside Oyster for over 10 years, but this formal partnership is a testament to a joint commitment to the safety and smooth-running of Oyster yachts,” Oyster Yachts said of the announcement.

The news comes as a fleet of 10 Oyster yachts are due to participate in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) and ARC+ 2024, departing from the Spanish island of Gran Canaria in November. “I’m pleased to announce that our service teams will be back in Las Palmas [in Gran Canaria] in November, providing complimentary health checks for all Oyster yachts taking part in the ARC and ARC+. And, once in the Caribbean, our service centre in Antigua will be happy to continue to support,” CEO Ashley Highfield said in the company’s Autumn Update 2024.
