First call at Valenciaport of the ship Explora I. The Port of València this morning welcomed the Explora I, a luxury cruise ship belonging to the MSC group. The ship, with a capacity for almost 800 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members (a ratio of four passengers to five crew members) meets the new sustainability requirements for which this shipping company is committed.

At the welcome ceremony, Mar Chao, president of the Port Authority of València (PAV), exchanged the traditional Valencian ‘socarrat’ with the ship’s captain, Diego Michelozzi, for a metope/insignia of the ship.

Also present at the reception were: Francisco Lorente, President of MSC Spain; Fernando Pacheco, General Manager of Explora Journeys in Spain; and Cristina Moreno, Regional Secretary for Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana.
