Highly anticipated bilateral meeting with Italy takes place in San Marino on Europe Day

San Marino Maritime Cluster chose Europe Day to host a delegation of Italian representatives of the maritime industry at the Kursaal Congress Centre. With an introduction by San Marino Maritime Navigation Authority President Loris Francini, the event was aptly titled “Navigando verso l’Europa” (navigating toward Europe) and showcased a selection of maritime best practices from both countries. The event was attended by Secretaries of State for Finance and Budget Marco Gatti, for Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari, and for Justice Massimo Andrea Ugolini. On the Italian side, the delegation included Senator Simona Petrucci, and the contribution of Admirals Nicola Carlone, General Commander of the Italian Coast Guard, and Luigi Giardino, Head of Maritime Safety and Security of the Coast Guard. Among the Italian attendees, the event also featured Assonat President and San Marino Honorary Consul Luciano Serra, Assonautica President Giovanni Acampora, and NAVIGO General Manager Pietro Angelini.
The workshops showcased the success story of the development of the San Marino Shipping Registry and provided many inputs on the cooperation in the maritime economy in in light of the association agreement between the Republic of San Marino and the European Union. The closing speech on the sea as a resource for all was delivered by San Marino Ship Register President Domenico Gianluca Miliziano.
