Anne Alarotu has taken on the role of Head of External Communications at Wärtsilä in April. In her new role, she will lead the corporate external communications reporting to Saara Tahvanainen, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications.

Alarotu joined Wärtsilä from Terveystalo, the leading Finnish private healthcare provider, where she was leading external and corporate communications since 2021. Prior to that, she has lead communication and marketing teams at Microsoft, Deloitte and Nokia.

“Wärtsilä has a significant role in decarbonising marine and energy industries. On this critical journey, communication also plays a significant role in bringing together Wärtsilä experts, customers, and other external stakeholders to share understanding and foster collaboration. Open communication of successes, progress, and learnings will support all parties to contribute positively to the future of our planet,” Alarotu comments.
