Europ Assistance Italy and Costa Cruises partnership renewed for smoother and protected travels

Europ Assistance Italy and Costa Cruises announce a new chapter in their partnership.

The renewal of the agreement, the third since 2016, consolidates the long-standing international partnership between the Generali Group’s Care Company and the Italian cruise company, extending it for another three years and confirming the commitment to guaranteeing peace of mind and the best assistance to travellers who choose Costa Cruises to explore the world.

The new insurance programme is available to travellers from Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland and applies to bookings and departures from 1 March 2024. The Early Booking and Basic Multi-risk coverages, which provide for cancellation and reimbursement of medical expenses, remain confirmed, but a number of new features are introduced to meet the changing needs of customers.

These include an increase in the trip cancellation limit, to provide greater peace of mind in the face of unforeseen events that may require a change in travel plans or the cancellation of the trip itself, as well as a digital solution for requesting assistance during the trip.

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with Costa Cruises, confirming our commitment to offering increasingly comprehensive insurance solutions to all those who choose to spend their holidays on board the Italian company’s ships. Our ability to innovate, adapting to the changing needs of travellers and often anticipating them, has been fundamental in consolidating this partnership over time, and we are thrilled to continue working alongside Costa Cruises to guarantee customers unforgettable and increasingly smooth travel experiences with the highest levels of protection,” says Erika Delmastro, Chief Travel Officer of Europ Assistance Italy.

“At Costa Cruises, guests are always at the centre of everything we do. We want them to enjoy the best holiday experiences, as only Costa can offer, thinking of nothing else but having fun and relaxing. This is why we are pleased to renew our collaboration with a partner of excellence like Europ Assistance, which offers the best in travel assistance, with a formula that is ideal for an international company like Costa, which ensures the same level of services in different countries” – says Gianfranco Allocca, Vice President Sales Excellence & Global Customer Centre Operations at Costa Cruises.
