Bazeport enters strategic agreement with Wallenius Wilhelmsen to equip 83 vessels with the Bazeport Seea information and entertainment system

Bazeport Technology, a software technology company known for its innovative Bazeport IPTV product, is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global leader in RoRo shipping and vehicle logistics.

This landmark agreement will see the information-sharing and entertainment system, Bazeport Seea, installed across Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s extensive fleet of 83 RoRo vessels, revolutionizing how corporate information is communicated and accessed onboard.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen approached Bazeport with a unique challenge: to create a shipboard system that mirrors the ease and efficiency by which corporate data and operational metrics are shared in land office communications. By democratizing this information and data for all staff, no matter where they are working, Wallenius Wilhelmsen is committed to driving better staff engagement and enhancing its global staff’s sense of unity and belonging. This focuses on improving crew safety and welfare, as well as optimizing operational efficiency.

The Bazeport Seea system, renowned for its flexibility and comprehensive suite of entertainment and information features, now includes integration with Microsoft Power BI to meet this need. This enhancement allows for seamless display and management of corporate data, making onboard communication and information-sharing as straightforward and impactful as it is in offices onshore.

In addition, all the vessels installing Bazeport will also be able to provide their crew with access to the largest licensed library of movie and TV content available, including new blockbuster movies, TV series and news. With the system working primarily offline, crew will have a digital ‘home from home’ video-on demand entertainment experience onboard. This helps enhance crew socialization and reduce unnecessary Internet access and streaming.

“The collaboration between Bazeport and Wallenius Wilhelmsen marks a significant milestone in maritime communication solutions,” said Thorstein Rinker, Chief Sales Officer at Baze Technology – the vendor of the Bazeport system.

“By integrating Microsoft Power BI into our Bazeport Seea system, we’re not only enhancing the onboard experience for crew and passengers, but also setting a new standard for corporate communication and information-sharing in the maritime industry. This agreement underscores our commitment to innovation and our ability to meet the unique needs of our clients, no matter how complex.”

Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s decision to partner with Bazeport highlights the shipping giant’s dedication to leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve operational efficiency and the onboard environment.

In support of the new agreement, Xavier Leroi, Chief Operating Officer of Shipping Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, stated,Our seafarers are the backbone of our operations, and we are always looking for ways to enhance the work environment onboard our vessels. Bazeport’s Seea system will help us provide access to educational and informational resources that support their personal and professional development. We also appreciate Bazeport’s flexibility and scalability, which allow us to tailor the system to each vessel and crew, and to adapt to changing requirements and technologies in the future.”

Prioritizing crew wellbeing, inclusion and engagement was further echoed by Sarah Walsh, VP Fleet Management at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, who enthusiastically endorses the partnership by saying, “This initiative is a testament to our continuous effort to adopt innovative solutions that enhance our fleet’s capabilities and our seafarers’ work-life. Bazeport’s Seea system will play a crucial role in streamlining our internal communications and delivering high-quality information, as well as entertainment to our vessels worldwide. We care for the wellbeing of our seafarers, and we want to make them feel more connected and included in the Wallenius Wilhelmsen organization. We believe that Bazeport’s Seea system will help us achieve that goal.”

Implementing the Bazeport Seea system across Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s fleet is to commence immediately, with plans for full fleet integration by Summer this year.
