Dr. Thalis P.V. Zis, Assistant Professor in the Department of Shipping – Cyprus University of Technology

Dr. Thalis P.V. Zis is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Shipping at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).Until 2021 he was Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and an MSc in Transport (2010) and a PhD in Port Operations (2015) both from Imperial College London. He has worked as an external expert for the European Commission as an evaluator of research proposals submitted in the Horizon 2020 EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, and as an interim evaluator of ongoing H2020 projects.  His research interests are focusing on green port operations and maritime logistics, traffic engineering, transport networks, and sustainable logistics. He has authored a significant number of journal papers and has presented his research at many international conferences. He is currently serving as Vice Chair at the AW030 Standing Committee on Marine Environment at the Transportation Research Board.
