Klaveness Dry Bulk is a leading digital operator, pool manager, trader and service provider in the dry bulk market operating from offices in Oslo, Singapore, Dubai, and Manila. We take data driven positions in the dry bulk freight market and enable other maritime professionals to minimize risk and maximize operational efficiency through our AI-powered Market Manager platform.

We are looking to expand the team with the addition of a Charterer / Chartering Manager to complement the team of chartering executives handling a growing cargo book and fleet of vessels that includes the largest Panamax pool, jointly managed with Marubeni. You will be joining a team that is utilizing cutting edge data to manage great volumes both in terms of covering long term COAs and in securing employment for the core fleet of vessel that comprises the Panamax pool – Baumarine by MaruKlav.

What we are looking for:

  • An ambitious dry bulk shipping professional to be part of an extremely engaged and driven Panamax Chartering team in Dubai, concentration on Indian Ocean Dry Bulk Trades

  • Initially assist and thereafter build cargo book within the Indian Ocean region – working with existing clients and develop new cargo charterers and trades

  • Identify and source the correct dry bulk Panamax tonnage within the Indian ocean region and develop owners to support tonnage execution of the cargo book.

  • Constantly rate spot cargoes on voyage and vessels on TC with close interaction with charterers/owners/brokers

  • Voyage Estimation calculations, CP negotiations and regular monitoring of the voyage fixed

  • Build on existing business and develop newer Panamax trades within the Indian Ocean region

  • Work in tandem with operations for smooth execution of voyages

  • Assist in developing business for the other products of the company

  • Perform analytics into past cargoes fixed or past vessel performance to have better understanding of trade, vessels, and port turn arounds for further improvements

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant education at College/University level, relevant commercial chartering experience (2+yrs) from Drybulk operator model.

  • Extensive knowledge of Indian Ocean trade routes, especially Indian Coastal cabotage business

  • Existing relationships with Cargo Charterers, Ship Owners, Shipping Brokers, and Agents in the Indian Ocean region.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a trading mindset.

  • Excellent data and analytics skills
