Bunker Holding staffed up on Diversity Equality and Inclusion with new CSR hire

Bunker Holding Headquarters in Middelfart, Denmark.

Bunker Holding, the world’s leading bunker supplier, hires new Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant to support the Group’s newly presented ESG agenda.

Former Senior Bunker Trader at Bunker Holding subsidiary Dan-Bunkering Claire-Celine Bausager will take on a new role as Bunker Holding’s new Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant effective December 1st, 2022. She will thus support the Group’s efforts to drive positive change within diversity, equality, and inclusion and employee health and safety across the entire Group.

“We are very excited to have Claire-Celine join Bunker Holding as CSR Consultant. Her knowledge of the industry, her experience, and not least her motivation will contribute significantly to accelerating our ESG efforts,” says Pernille Græsdal Beck, Executive HR Business Partner at Bunker Holding.

Claire-Celine brings valuable insights from her commercial role and from her involvement in Women in Shipping (WIS), a professional network for women in the maritime industry, which she initiated in 2019. Since, Claire-Celine Bausager has been passionately advocating for improvements to further gender diversity in the shipping industry.

Some of the main areas of efforts for Claire-Celine Bausager includes instituting unconscious bias training, talent development, and composing Bunker Holding’s first Stress Policy. Something Claire-Celine Bausager is keen to take on.

“I think it is an incredible opportunity to be a part of the Group’s initial ESG journey and to contribute to driving positive change in not only the company but also the industry using the experience and knowledge that I have. I realize that it will not only require dedication and strong commitment but also time to change a somewhat conservative culture,” says Claire-Celine Bausager, adding:

“Although we are at the beginning of our ESG-journey, I really think that we have the foundation, the resources, and not least the willingness to succeed with our ambitions and our goals.”

Bringing Claire-Celine Bausager on board as a CSR Consultant follows the launch of Bunker Holding’s new five-year strategy and the release of the Group’s first ESG-report, putting emphasis on sustainable and socially responsible practices. Having a CSR Consultant onboard secures a single point of entry to Bunker Holding employees’ wellbeing, ensuring it is kept front and centre with full attention of the leadership.

“We recently extended the Group’s global parental leave policy to 20 weeks of paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers, and I think that this is a great initiative and step in the right direction towards fostering a more equal, inclusive, and diverse workplace. And I am really excited to see what else we can achieve,” says Pernille Græsdal Beck.

Earlier this year, Bunker Holding accelerated efforts to convert ESG strategy to action with the hiring of Mette Østerskov as Head of ESG in June followed by the company’s first ESG Report, which was published in September. Mette Østerskov will continue to drive Bunker Holding’s ESG efforts forward in conjunction with Bunker Holding’s strategy now supported by the new CSR Consultant.

Claire-Celine Bausager reports to Pernille Græsdal Beck, Executive HR Business Partner at Bunker Holding.
