Ambassador celebrated two industry award wins its first year

Ambassador Cruise Line, the UK’s premium value cruise line, has been awarded two industry awards less than a year since it began sailing.
Last week, Ambassador was named Best Value for Money cruise line at the Cruise Critic Awards and received the Bronze Award for No-fly Cruise Holidays at the British Travel Awards.
Christian Verhounig, CEO of Ambassador, says: “Having only begun our sailing season this year, we are delighted to have already been recognised for successfully delivering premium value, no-fly cruises to the British market. On behalf of the entire Ambassador team, I would like to thank all those that voted for us in two of the UK’s most reputable travel industry bodies’ annual awards.
“We look forward to launching our second lady of the sea, Ambition, in May next year, to enable even more guests to enjoy a cruise with Ambassador.”
Cruise Critic – Best Value for Money (Ocean Category): Ambassador Cruise Line
Cruise Critic is the world’s leading cruise reviews site and online cruise community. This year it celebrated its 14th annual Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards, recognising the best cruise lines of the year for UK cruisers, as chosen by the site’s international team of cruise experts.
Guided by the Cruise Critic editorial team’s impartial cruise expertise – based on first-hand experiences and industry knowledge – the awards name the best-in-industry while also helping travellers select the best cruise for their specific interests and needs.
Of Ambassador’s win, the Cruise Critic judges said: “Ambassador boasts affordable lead-in fares, plus an included drinks and tips package – including all tips, service charges and premium wines, spirits, teas and coffees. It’s not hard to see why this new cruise line scoops the prize for Best Value.”
Adam Coulter, Executive Editor of Cruise Critic UK, said: “These awards showcase the most standout cruise lines – and ports – of the year, based on our editorial team’s personal experience and extensive industry expertise.
“The list of winners is evidence of the incredible strides of the industry over the past year – not just in returning to full service, but in providing travellers with truly remarkable experiences.”
British Travel Awards – Bronze for No-fly Cruise Holidays: Ambassador Cruise Line
The British Travel Awards (BTAs) are consumer voted, with the companies awarded endorsed by British consumers across various categories, including cruise.
“Ambassador Cruise Line and all winners are to be congratulated,” said BTA Director of Events and Partnerships, Lorraine Barnes Burton. “It’s a clear indicator that guests have enjoyed a great holiday and felt strongly enough about their experience to vote.”
“The British Travel Awards are the largest travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer, and the awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling public.
“Travel companies have had a tough time during the pandemic, but it is wonderful to be back travelling again and receiving a British Travel Award heralds a promising start to 2023. Understandably, votes were up by 158% on the 2020 voting figures, showing that consumers really missed travelling, and are keen to have their say when it comes to those all-important holidays.”
