ICOMIA has launched the updated distributors guide and database

ICOMIA, in collaboration with Barrow International in the UK and Home Port Global in the USA, has launched the updated ICOMIA Distributors’ Guide and Database during METSTRADE 2022. The launch was attended by 20 members of ICOMIA and their members.

During the launch David Barrow from Barrow International spoke about the need for small companies emerging into, or looking to further develop, international distribution to have access to good information on how to know they were relevant to international distributors, and who should they contact.

David emphasised how important it is for companies to do their homework, check what the competition is doing,  research current market pricing, and look at the margins and their suitability for 2-step distribution, plus other factors.

The Distributors’ Database has been re-created from scratch, validating each company to ensure it complies with the requirements, as well as adding new ones. The revised Distributors’ Guide has been condensed and made easier to read, with a newly added section on social media and online marketing. The document and the database have been created with feedback and input from leading industry manufacturers and distributors.

The ICOMIA Distributors’ Guide has been developed to assist anyone operating in the marine industry, whether boat dealers, distributors, or boat builders, develop and implement an international distributors’ network. This start-up guide outlines the requirements and considerations needed to make the right decisions when selecting a distributor for your company and how to set up vibrant distribution networks for a wide range of products.

The updated ICOMIA Distributors’ Guide and Database are members only documents and can be accessed on ICOMIA Library.
