Speakers announced for NI Brazil Branch conference on ‘The Future of Offshore Brazil’

The Brazil Branch of The Nautical Institute  is delighted to announce speakers for its conference celebrating the Institute’s 50th Anniversary.

Themed “The future of offshore Brazil”, the full day conference will take place in Rio de Janeiro on 22 October 2022 and will feature speakers including: Vinicius Madruga Santos (Legal Representative and President of The Nautical Institute in Brazil, Quality Manager, DPA and CSO at Flumar Transportes de Químicos e Gases Ltda.); Marcelo Borba (CEO of MB Maritime); Luis Ursulino (Inspector SIRE Gas/Oil Tankers); Admiral Wilson Pereira de Lima Filho (former President of the Brazilian Maritime Court); Flávia Maia (former President of WISTA and current General Manager of GARD Brazil); Rafael Passos (Master in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture at Petrobras); and Marcus Lisboa (Oil Spill Consultant). Also participating will be the CEO of The Nautical Institute, Capt John Lloyd.

The event will give South American members of the NI the opportunity to assess and discuss maritime operations. It will include sessions on Dynamic Positioning (DP) operations in the post-covid world, oil spill challenges in a world transitioning to renewable energy, the achievements and challenges for women in all segments of the maritime industry and also the expectations and uncertainties of the new generation of maritime leaders. The event will conclude with a cocktail reception followed by a dinner/dance.
