Britannia strengthens senior management team

Britannia’s Managers continue to strengthen their senior management team, with Simon Williams taking on the role of Chief Underwriting Officer of Britannia P&I Club and Mike Hall focusing on his Deputy Chief Executive Officer position, including oversight of Britannia’s London operations and regional hubs.
Simon joined Britannia in 2017 and in 2019 was promoted to Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer, with responsibility for the management of the London-based underwriting team and with particular focus on the Club’s European membership. Prior to joining Britannia, Simon worked at another P&I Club where he was a Group Director.
Simon’s promotion allows Mike to focus on his DCEO role, which includes responsibility for the day-to-day management of Britannia’s London office, as well having oversight of Britannia’s regional hubs ensuring that Britannia continues to provide exceptional service to its Members worldwide. Mike remains Chair of the Reinsurance Committee of the International Group of P&I Clubs (the IG).
These management moves follow the announcement in June that Andrew Cutler, Britannia CEO, had been unanimously recommended to be nominated to take on the role of IG Chair. This recommendation will now go to the IG’s November 2022 Annual General Meeting for ratification.
“The Managers are delighted to appoint Simon as our CUO, allowing Mike to focus on his DCEO role and provide capacity for my anticipated IG Chair role. Their roles reflect the hard work and commitment to Britannia of both of my colleagues and I look forward to working closely with them to continue to drive the Club forward,” said Andrew Cutler, Britannia CEO.
