Ocean Independence and Excelerate Marine formed a strategic partnership

EXCELERATE Z - Yacht for charter

Ocean Independence and Excelerate Marine, part of the Excelerate Technology Group, have formed a strategic, collaborative partnership to deliver products and services to Ocean Independence’s clients, captains, and crew at exclusive partnership pricing.

The strategic collaboration will allow Ocean Independence’s clients access to hardware, integration, and support capability for new builds, refits, and upgrades, in addition to Excelerate’s unrivalled internet network connectivity and management through VSAT and 4/5G data.

The two companies first engaged five years ago, when Excelerate established Excelerate Marine in the South of France as a subsidiary of its already highly successful global connectivity business that has forged a niche within the mission-critical first responder sector during the past 21 years.

To demonstrate what separates Excelerate from the rest of the market, five years ago, Ocean Independence supported Excelerate’s purchase of its Sunseeker motor yacht, MY Excelerate Z, which has since become not only an R&D test bed and demonstration vessel but also a charter yacht, managed by Ocean Independence.

Toby Maclaurin, Sales Director for Ocean Independence, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Excelerate Marine as our preferred technology and connectivity partner. Anyone we work with and introduce to our valued customers must share the same ethos that we do. As a company, we have always maintained a strict non-commission policy from suppliers, which means our clients enjoy all the financial benefits any discounted terms will give. For us, it’s about working with the right people and giving our yacht owners, captains, crew, and charter guests the best experience possible. We believe Excelerate Marine provides just that.”

David Savage, CEO and founder of Excelerate said: “It soon became evident that Ocean Independence and Excelerate share the same values, so the fit is perfect. Quite simply, we both want to deliver superior capability, quality, support, and of course, value. We will be introduced as a preferred supplier to Ocean Independence’s clients, who will benefit from discounts upon everything we do or supply.”

As a developer, integrator, maintainer, and network operator, Excelerate Marine’s portfolio of hardware solutions cover new builds and winter refits for bridge systems, communications and IT, security, and AV systems. As a full-service connectivity provider, the company will help clients enhance connectivity through multi-beam VSAT and unsteered SIMS globally. Multi-beam VSAT ensures that should the primary bearer not be available for, as an example, line of sight issues, a secondary beam automatically becomes available. And, with an unsteered 4/5G SIM the best available network is chosen given clients are not tied to a preferred network operator.

David Savage added: “We also ensure that what we develop not only performs and is fit for purpose but that it is easy to use, by anybody. In the same way, our first responders shouldn’t need to be experts in IT so they can focus on their day job. We also believe that our maritime-developed products and solutions should be easy to use by guests, captains, and crew.”
