Telespazio will be the exclusive provider of Eutelsat’s Konnect VHTS satellite for defence and security

- The joint venture between Leonardo and Thales aims to become the reference meta operator for European MIL and GOVSATCOMs
Telespazio, a joint venture between Leonardo and Thales , will be the exclusive provider for the defence and security services based on the new EUTELSAT Konnect VHTS satellite built by Thales Alenia Space and launched on September 7th.
Following the agreements signed between Eutelsat and the Space Alliance (Telespazio and Thales Alenia Space), Telespazio, for the vast majority of the coverage area, will also be the exclusive service provider for all the Governments and Public Administrations. In addition, Telespazio will provide fixed and mobile communication services for the B2B market.
Leveraging on the outstanding characteristics of the new satellite, Telespazio is activating partnership with world leader manufacturing companies to develop new services tailored for government needs and currently not available on the market. These services will be characterized by very high throughputs and cyber security features aligned with institutional requirements.
Through this new agreement, Telespazio has further enriched its MILSATCOM and GOVSATCOM portfolio, ranging from military satellite based services (UHF, X bands and Mil Ka) to commercial satellite based services.
“We are very excited to announce the agreement with Eutelsat on this powerful satellite which grants us the exclusivity to provide game changer communication and value added services for defence and security markets. We are creating innovative solutions in partnerships with best in class manufacturing companies to develop secure network infrastructures and terminals,” said Alessandro Caranci, SVP Satellite Communications of Telespazio. “VHTS technology will allow Telespazio to complete its portfolio of solutions in line with the goal to become the reference meta operator for European GOVSATCOMs.”
Telespazio will rely on its long-standing experience gained over decades of collaboration with major European Ministry of Defence and with the several European Public Administrations to realize secure and reliable services.
