The inauguration highlighted the project’s significant contribution to the local economy as a year-round leisure destination for locals, tourists and visitors

All those who attended the opening ceremony on June 21^st were resolute in their opinion: Ayia Napa Marina is far more than just a place where yachts are moored. Over and above the excellent, high-quality services on offer to docked boats (some of which are already well-known in the maritime world), the Marina is a complete ecosystem where one can live the ultimate lifestyle by the sea; a place where work or leisure time can be appreciated in countless coffee shops or dining establishments, and where various occasions can be enjoyed within the impressive Event Center. The recent opening ceremony was held by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who expressed his admiration for Ayia Napa Marina, while his presence highlighted the importance of the project for the local community, the economy, and beyond. The inauguration took place under the auspices of the Ayia Napa Marina CEO, Stavros Caramondanis, and Ayia Napa Marina Chairman, Naguib Sawiris, in the presence of distinguished guests.

During his welcome speech, Caramondanis mentioned that he feels great joy, satisfaction and gratitude that the project envisioned by his father, Gerasimos Caramondanis, is celebrating a new chapter today. “We certainly had to revise the initial project timeline,” emphasised the Ayia Napa Marina CEO. “But with hard work, perseverance, and resolve, we came here today to inaugurate a project like no other on the island. An autonomous ecosystem where living, entertainment and recreation combine, as new employment opportunities breathe new life into the area and will continue to do so annually. We are very proud of everything we have achieved thus far, but there is one thing you can be sure of – a new chapter has begun for Ayia Napa Marina, and this is just the beginning!” Caramondanis then referred to the progress of the works, specifically mentioning the East Tower, which is expected to be delivered in early spring 2023, and the construction progress of the luxury residences, with the striking Beach Villa 6 having already been delivered to its owner.

Impressed by the progress of the project and everything he witnessed so far, Sawiris highlighted that Ayia Napa Marina is the most impressive of all his investments to date and that he feels lucky and blessed to contribute to the implementation of such a magnificent project that will radically change the landscape of the South-East Mediterranean, raising the bar for services provided. “Moreover,” he added. “When completed, it will be a jewel not only for Ayia Napa but for the whole island, a project that will revive the local community and will contribute greatly to the national economy.”

The completion of the project will significantly upgrade both the maritime and recreational tourism of the area and Cyprus as a whole.
