On April 14th 2020, Principals of Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. took delivery of a further newbuilding Kamsarmax (82,000 tons) bulk carrier Euripides Graecia. She was built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Ltd. and the delivery and naming ceremonies took place at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipyard in Jingjiang, China.

The ceremony and celebration of the delivery and the naming of the new vessel did take place and Godmother was the young Miss Daphne Tsatsarou, daughter of Nikolaos Tsatsaros, Lloyd’s Register Senior Business DevelopmentManager in China.

The shipyard was represented by its executives, whereas representatives of Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. were unable to fly and attend the ceremony due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, they “attended” the ceremony from Athens through Skype, while at the same time Dr. Emmanuela Bakola in London made a presentation/webinar on the life and works of the tragedian Euripides, so that the attendees of the ceremony in China were introduced to the ancient Greek literature.
