Tototheo Maritime CSO, Andreas Chrysostomou awarded the GREEN4SEA Leadership Award 2020

Andreas Chrysostomou, has been awarded the GREEN4SEA Leadership Award 2020 at the ceremony held on 03rd March 2020 in Athens. The award is given to the individual who has provided the industry with leadership skills and contributed towards greener shipping throughout his or her career.
Throughout the years, Andreas Chrysostomou has served as chairman of the design and equipment subcommittee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO); and between 2003 and 2013 he served as chairman of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC).
Mr Chysostomou’s work towards environmental awareness within shipping has been substantial throughout his career and is widely recognised by the industry. Other awards he has been presented with, include:
“Award of Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Shipping”, 2011
“Distinguished Public Service Award” by the United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, for his invaluable service to International Shipping, November 2011
“Green Shipping Technology Award – Leading Shipping Personality of the Decade 2003-2013”, 2013
“YoungShip Honorary Award” by YoungShip Cyprus 2019.
“It is a real honour to receive this award by GREEN4SEA. I am really pleased and happy that my contribution to green shipping and in shipping in general is being recognised by peers”, said Mr Chrysostomou. “This is a real motive for me to continue working and contributing towards the reduction of our industry’s environmental footprint”, he continued.
