A new collaboration was formally launched on Thursday, February 13th 2020, with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between HELMEPA and the Hellenic Navy Seals Association. Chairmen Dr. G. Gratsos and Commodore (Ret) A. Palatianos H.N. respectively, committed their organizations to jointly contribute to informing students and seafarers about the environment and safety.

In particular, HELMEPA’s initiatives, which include voluntary-educational beach cleanups, will be enriched by HNSA diving volunteer members to highlight the role of humans in marine and seabed pollution. HNSA will also participate with special presentations on safety at sea, in HELMEPA’s programs in Greece and Cyprus, supported by Lloyd’s Register Foundation.

Mr. Palatianos was accompanied by HNSA Vice President, Mr. C. Pozidis and Secretary General Mr. A. Lambrou, who also discussed with HELMEPA’s Chairman, Director General and competent staff issues regarding the cooperation to follow.
