Monjasa – YoungShip Cyprus Company Award winners!

Monjasa’s Limassol-based team is the proud receiver of the Company Award at the 2019 YoungShip Awards in Cyprus.

YoungShip Cyprus was founded in 2012 as a branch of YoungShip International which is a non-profit organisation acting as a voice for young people in the maritime industry. The award was presented at the annual dinner in Limassol with 300 guests representing more than 30 maritime companies.

The Company Award goes to a company that empowers young employees and has made notable contributions to the local maritime industry.

EYES ARE ON THE FUTURE GENERATIONS

“Since establishing Monjasa’s first presence in Cyprus in 2016, I have seen how our young team with a mean age of 30 years has developed positively with the responsibility of representing Monjasa in the Mediterranean region.

We focus on providing our colleagues learning opportunities through our in-house academy and prioritise that everyone at our office takes active part in the development of the local community. Together with a strong focus on our values of Respect, Ambition, Curiosity and Smile & Joy we have seen a growing demand for our marine fuel services and it has been possible for us to expand the team from three to ten colleagues here in Limassol,” says Theodoros Mitsingas, General Manager Monjasa Cyprus.

In addition, Monjasa Cyprus contributes to the Monjasa Oil and Shipping Trainee (MOST) as home office for a young colleague during the 2-year education and as a base for trainees rotating between Monjasa’s global offices.

POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS LEAD TO LIMASSOL RELOCATION

The YoungShip award comes shortly after the Cyprus team relocated to a new office in Limassol. The new office is located in the heart of Limassol’s business area overlooking the regional ship traffic.

The bigger and more inviting office space not only contributes positively to the working environment. It also allows the local Monjasa team to engage in more personal business and host both formal and informal events in Limassol together with our business partners.

In the future, we expect to continue growing our presence in the Mediterranean region and thereby cultivating the talent pipeline to our local office and Monjasa worldwide.
