MOL signs 3-year contract with NSSLGlobal for VSAT IP@SEA and SMART@SEA security and welfare services

NSSLGlobal, the global independent SATCOM and IT solutions provider, has announced a new 3-year contract with MOL LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd, which includes an enhanced airtime package, crew entertainment streaming service alongside the roll out of its new Cyber and IT managed services. This far-reaching contract will also see NSSLGlobal partner with MOL to trial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) services to further enhance and future proof the fleets technology and capabilities.

The contract will see NSSLGlobal providing increased bandwidth speeds to meet MOL’s growing demands for digitalisation of its operations as well as to meet crew welfare requirements using its latest DVBS2X SatLink technology. The onboard SMART@SEA solution provided by NSSLGlobal enables MOL to select additional Value-Added Services. To enable crew retention this includes a managed Wi-Fi hotspot capability for crew alongside  NSSLGlobal’s latest info/entertainment service, CrewVision, which provides on-demand access to a wide variety of Movies, TV Drama, Sports, Documentaries, and Daily World News in various languages. The service uses NSSLGlobal’s SatLink hub technology to deliver a multi-broadcast channel over its global VSAT network thereby providing a separate entertainment channel to the vessels’ internet.

For operations, MOL has selected NSSLGlobal’s Smart Gold Plan which will provide Vessel Security Services, IT Service Management and a 24/7 SOC (Security Operations Centre), all wrapped up in a Cyber Security SMART Support package. The new packages of SMART Cyber and IT managed services ensures that NSSLGlobal’s customers can reduce their IT costs, gain access to 24/7 IT resources to supplement their in-house IT departments and, most importantly, remain IMO cyber risk compliant and cyber protected at sea.

“We are excited to continue and expand upon our long and close partnership with MOL. Their 130-year history, commitment to excellence, and ‘spirit of challenge’ is akin to NSSLGlobal’s philosophy with both companies committed to trialling and delivering services at the cutting edge of technology in order to evolve and grow our companies” says Sally-Anne Ray, Group CEO, NSSLGlobal.

“We have been working with NSSLGlobal for many years and during that time they have always demonstrated their customer focus with their ability to deliver extensive and quality support. Their proposal proved to be the best for meeting our considerable bandwidth, security and welfare demands now and in the future. We look forward to working with NSSLGlobal in rolling out these upgrades and new services,” says Pete Adsett, Chief Information Technology Officer, MOL LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd.
