The annual gala dinner organized by “YoungShip Cyprus” on Friday 4th November 2022, at Columbia Plaza in Limassol, has been completed with great success. More than two hundred thirty distinguished guests from the Maritime Industry of Cyprus honored the event with their presence, celebrating until the early hours in a pleasant atmosphere and leaving, to the satisfaction of the organizers, with the best impressions regarding the well organized and high-quality evening.
The President of YoungShip Cyprus Mr. Andreas Christoforou, welcoming the participants of the event, noted, that 2022 has been a very important year for the Organization, with the organization of several events and activities, with the highlight of the organization of “Young Executives Session,” within the context of the international conference Maritime Cyprus 2022. Moreover, Mr. Christoforou assured the participants, that the Organization, having as ally all the stakeholders of the Maritime Industry of Cyprus, shall continue to offer a great service in the years to come. Finally, Mr. Christoforou thanked the sponsors of the evening, namely, Pelagic Partners, Zeaborn Ship Management, Intership Navigation, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, Island Oil, InoMob, Columbia Ship Management, Navkratis, Northern Lloyd Insurance Services, OSM Maritime and Fameline Holding Group.
Also, in the context of the dinner, the presentation of awards to the winners of “YoungShip Cyprus Awards” for 2022 took place. The winners of the awards have been voted via a careful procedure of selection of nominations. The institution of “YoungShip Cyprus Awards” has been established by the Organization, in cooperation with WISTA Cyprus in 2016, aiming to reward and acknowledge the active participation and contribution of the nominees, both in the Maritime Industry, as well as, in other social or charitable activities.
The following awards were presented:
- YoungShip Company Award – awarded by Christis Michaelides, General Manager of Ancoria Insurance Public Ltd, to the Pelagic Partners Ltd.
- YoungShip Innovation & Entrepreneurship Award – awarded by Mrs. Rafaella Yiangou – Business Development Manager of Cyprus Marine & Maritime Institute to Mr. Sotiris Petrakides of InoMob.
- YoungShip Leader Award – awarded by Mrs. Georgia Demetriou, Board Member of WISTA Cyprus, to Mr. Andreas Tziarras, Managing Director of OneJar Ltd.
- YoungShip Honorary Award – awarded by Mrs. Maria Miltiadou, Deputy Executive Director of Youth Board of Cyprus, to WISTA Cyprus President, Mrs. Anna Vourgos, for her active support to the Maritime Industry of Cyprus, the young people involved in that industry, as well as to the Organization itself.
This year YoungShip Cyprus Board of Directors decided to give an additional award to a highly valued supporter of the organization. YoungShip Supporter Award – awarded by Shipping Deputy Minister Mr. Vassilios Demetriades, to Mr. Nikolas Christofi.
