EPSCO Group opened its doors to 30 students and 3 accompanying professors from the vocational Lyceum of Kalymnos, Greece where its Group Director, Yvonne Tsanos (AFNI) carried out training on Shipping Automation, Safety and the identity of EPSCO throughout the day.
Transferring experience and knowledge to three groups of excited young inquisitive minds in our maritime environment was a pleasure and delivered at a level and pace to encourage understanding and digestion of the topic presented within the maritime sphere. The 3 groups were accompanied not only by the Greek Lyceum’s professors but also Cypriot, Mr. Kyriakos Mavris, Technical Director of Cyprus SubSea Consulting Services and Professor at the University of Nicosia. Notably only two young ladies; one with the desire of being a future marine engineer and the other a Master, were amongst the group who participated.
“Thank you for the wonderful inspirational presentation!!!, I wish wholeheartedly to meet again in a future program!!!” Professor Michael Paou,, Kalymnos Lyceum.
The students were part of the Erasmus + programme (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) on exchange combining all the EU’s current schemes for education, training, youth and sport which started in 2014. It was a great to have met these enthusiastic individuals and we wish them the very best with their future careers in the maritime industry.
