New generation Control Room in Cyprus for large fleets in the Mediterranean Sea

Projected and set up in Cyprus by the Italian company IB

The InfoSHIP FORCE software technology

Green light today in Cyprus for the first demonstrative prototype of one of the most modern “control room” for fleets of cargo and cruise ships, projected by the Italian group IB within the InfoSHIP software framework.

Thanks to this solution, which is due to be tailor-made for each individual company or platform of maritime activity, a predominant percentage of on-board functions will be managed onshore, making possible a constant control H24 of the “vital parameters of ships” as confirmed by Giampiero Soncini, CEO of IB. Consumption control,  assets performance, maintenance planning, routes optimization; these are part of the InfoSHIP FORCE solution.

The control room has been designed to monitor operation processes and performances of one or more fleets through an integrated platform which collects, compares, analyses and share vessels’ operating parameters in real-time between ships-shore.

The ultimate and main purpose of the all-in solution is the economic advantage. Timely choices and constant monitoring, lead to a substantial decrease in consumption and costs. From the operational point of view the onshore control room make possible any on real time route adjustment thanks to a 24-hours monitoring on meteorological situations, that grants higher safety levels for ships and costs savings.

From a practical point of view, the new system optimizes on-board operational processes with direct benefits on staff workload and overtime jobs.
