OOCL announced results for 2nd quarter 2020 with total volumes 4.6% down and total revenues increased by 1.1%


The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Orient Overseas (International) Limited (the
“Company”) has adopted a policy of announcing unaudited operational updates for Orient
Overseas Container Line (“OOCL”) on a quarterly basis. This announcement sets out the
unaudited operational update for OOCL for the second quarter ended 30th June 2020. The
comparative figures for the second quarter ended 30th June 2019 are also disclosed in this announcement.

For the second quarter ended 30th June 2020, total volumes were 4.6% down from the same period last year. Total revenues increased by 1.1% to US Dollars 1,583.8 million. Loadable capacity decreased by 6.4%. The overall load factor was 1.6% higher than the same period in 2019. Overall average revenue per teu increased by 5.9% compared to the second quarter of last year.

For the first six months ended 30th June 2020, total volumes decreased by 2.6% over the same period last year and total revenues recorded a 3.2% growth. Loadable capacity decreased by 4.2%. The overall load factor was 1.3% higher than the same period in 2019. Overall average revenue per teu increased by 6.0% compared to the same period last year.
