  • The project, with a budget of €2,257,841.15 (VAT included), includes painting and protective treatment of the steel structure, refurbishment of the access stairways, and improvements to the lighting.
  • The works are expected to be completed within 15 months of the signing of the contract.
  • This project adds to other port-city integration initiatives already undertaken or planned by the Port Authority in the Marina area.

The refurbishment of the steel structure of the elevated seafront promenade at the Port of Valencia has taken a further step forward following the Valencia Port Authority’s  award of the contract for the works to be carried out in the La Marina area. The project will enable this space to be repaired and improve the condition of the promenade, which forms part of one of the port area’s public spaces.

The joint venture (UTE) SORIGUE ACSA CONSERVACIÓN DE INFRAESTRUCTURAS S.A.U. – ACSA OBRAS E INFRAESTRUCTURAS S.A.U I has been awarded the contract for this project promoted by the APV, with a budget of €2,257,841.15 (VAT included) and an expected completion period of 15 months.

The works include the cleaning, repair and treatment of the steel structure to improve its long-term preservation. The benches and the pergola located at the end of the promenade, near the port entrance, will also be repaired. In addition, improvements will be made to enhance the safety and functionality of the pedestrian walkway, including upgrades to the access stairways, railings and lighting.

The use of renewable energy will be promoted

The tender also includes special environmental conditions for the execution of the works. To encourage the use of renewable energy, the use of electricity generators and compressors powered by combustion engines will be avoided. Furthermore, materials suitable for reuse must be managed by an authorised waste management operator.

This project adds to other port-city integration initiatives already undertaken or planned by the Port Authority in the Marina area, including improvements to the Customs Quay and the area surrounding the Clock Building, as well as the planned relocation of the former lighthouse, among others.
