Ayia Napa Marina announces key changes to its executive leadership team, including the appointment of Anthony John Scholes as Chief Operating Officer, the departure of Chief Financial Officer Amr El Adawy, and the appointment of Tarek Abbass as Interim Chief Financial Officer.
Appointment of Anthony John Scholes as Chief Operating Officer
Effective 15 September 2026, Anthony John Scholes has assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of Ayia Napa Marina.
With more than 40 years of international experience in development and construction across Europe, the Middle East, and Russia, Anthony brings extensive expertise in delivering large-scale mixed-use, hospitality, residential, retail, and marina developments.
Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with prominent organisations, including Kition Ocean Holdings, Porto Montenegro, Qatari Diar, and Bovis Lend Lease.
Most recently, Anthony worked with Black Mountain Partners on pre-development projects in London, Greece, and Montenegro. His professional background also includes leadership roles in major developments such as Larnaca Port and Marina and Porto Montenegro, alongside overseeing significant international construction and development operations.
His appointment marks an important step in strengthening Ayia Napa Marina’s executive leadership and supporting its continued development.
Chief Financial Officer Transition
Following his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Ayia Napa Marina, Amr El Adawy stepped down from his position, effective 30 September 2026, to pursue the next chapter of his professional career.
Ayia Napa Marina extends its sincere appreciation to Amr for his dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions throughout his time with the organisation and wishes him continued success in his future endeavours.
To ensure continuity during this transition, Tarek Abbass, Senior Director of Planning, Budgeting and Control at Ora Holding, has assumed the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer of Ayia Napa Marina, effective 15 September 2026. He will serve in this capacity until a permanent appointment is made.
These leadership changes reflect Ayia Napa Marina’s ongoing commitment to strong corporate governance, operational excellence, and the long-term development of the destination.
